On Wednesday, December 7, 2016, over 640 Rotary members from the Philadelphia area joined together with Rotary International President John Germ, to attend their Million Dollar Journey Celebration Dinner, announcing the raising of $2,355,376 for the Rotary International Foundation.
This effort represented an all-time fundraising record for the organization led by Dave Haradon, District Governor and Bonnie Korengel, Million Dollar Journey Campaign Chair. This effort supports the work of the worldwide Rotary International Foundation, rated 100% in financial accountability and transparency by Charity Navigator. In addition to the celebrating the Million Dollar Journey achievement, Rotarians celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Rotary Foundation and the 100th Birthday of the local Rotary Club of Chester charted on June 1, 1916.
