In a ceremony at the Wednesday morning Twin Valley Rotary meeting on November 9th, two Twin Valley students were awarded the Twin Valley Rotary Students of the Month Award.

Rebecca Ashley Hegarty is a sophomore at Twin Valley High School. She actively participates in Acapella Choir, Chorus, Library Student Advisory Board, Leo Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Theatre Arts Club, Girls Varsity Soccer, and also takes part in her youth group’s leadership team. She cannot wait for college and hopes to major in English education. She plans on teaching English in foreign countries once she finishes her schooling. This year she was nominated for HOBY’s leadership conference at Temple University. She is greatly looking forward to this experience.
Shelby Coy had been on the distinguished Honor Roll from the 9th grade to present and The National Honor Society from the 10th to 12th grades. She is the editor of the Twin Valley School Newspaper and was the editor of the Twin Valley Yearbook in the 11th grade. Her extracurricular activities include the Twin Valley Cross Country Team and the Twin Valley Track Team. She is also a freelance writer for the “Voices” section of The Reading Eagle and works as an ice cream server at Just Mom’s. Her future plans include attending a four-year university to later attend veterinary school to become an equine veterinarian.
