Ella Slider
Ella Slider is a senior at Twin Valley High School. She is highly dedicated to academic success, and has thrived in classes at every level of difficulty. Ella has received academic awards from the school and has been recognized as a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program and an AP Scholar, among other achievements.
She has been highly involved during her time at Twin Valley. Musically, Ella participates in Concert Choir, Symphonic Orchestra, Select Choir, Treble Tones, and Tri-M Music Honors Society. She enjoys performing in these ensembles, and her best friendships have grown from the music program. Outside of Twin Valley’s walls, Ella has represented the school in Sr. County, District, and Region Choirs. She is also a stage crew member and has spent hundreds of hours making musicals come to life through the theater arts club. Outside of the arts, Ella enjoys making a difference in others’ lives through the National Honors Society and high school heroes.
After high school, Ella will be attending Lebanon Valley College. She will pursue a bachelor’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders, followed by a masters in Speech and Language Pathology. Ella’s ultimate goal is to become a pediatric speech therapist. During the spring semester, she has interned with Ms. Gosnell, the speech pathologist at Twin Valley Elementary Center. Her internship experience helped solidify her future plans.
Ella is incredibly grateful for all who have helped her grow through high school, and who have prepared her for college.
Evan Haak
A dedicated and well-rounded student, Evan Haak is a senior at Twin Valley High School, where he ranks in the top 2% of his class with a 4.41 GPA. With a rigorous academic record that includes numerous AP and dual enrollment courses, he has earned multiple honors, including the National AP Scholar Award and the College Board’s National Rural and Small Town Recognition Award, among others. Beyond the classroom, Evan is actively involved in athletics and leadership. He served as a varsity soccer team captain, earning All-Division selection, and leading the team throughout the season. He also previously competed on the varsity track team.
Passionate about engineering and innovation, he completed an internship at Whitman Engineering and developed a senior capstone project in Engineering Design and Development, where he designed and prototyped a solution based on expert feedback from collegiate professors and professional engineers. He is also a state-qualifying member of the Technology Student Association.
Committed to service and faith, Evan serves as vice president of The Awakening Christian Club, leads community service as an officer for the National Honor Society, and volunteers with Eastgate House of Prayer, Windsor Christian Academy, and the local food pantry. Evan is also actively involved in Varsity Club, Ski Club, and History Club. He balances these roles with part-time work throughout the summers and school year. Looking ahead, he plans to pursue a degree in engineering at Baylor University, combining academics, leadership, and service to make a meaningful impact.
