On January 18 the Twin Valley Rotary Club was proud to honor Twin Valley High School seniors Caley Jamison and Taylor Knorr as their students of the month. The presentation was made at their weekly meeting. Caley and Taylor were honored for their participation in extra-curricular activities and outstanding academic achievement. In the last four years of high school, Twin Valley has given Caley many opportunities to be involved in volunteer work. Through her participation in National Honor Society, she has been able to help at retirement homes, elementary schools, and local libraries and festivals. For the past two years, she volunteered her time at the Salvation Army in Reading with Student Council. She also joined a volunteer program known as Twin Valley High School Heroes. In this club, high school students take day trips to the district elementary schools and teach lessons on respect, thankfulness, communication, and other important life topics. After high school, Caley plans on attending a four-year university majoring in Pre-Med or Biology. She then hopes to attend medical school, eventually become an OBGYN and open her own medical practice. After starting her career, she would like to get married and start a family.
As a senior at Twin Valley High School, Taylor is very involved with volunteering around her community. She plays three sports and often volunteers her time around athletics. Taylor has volunteered at many basketball camps and enjoys teaching young children the correct way to excel in the sport. In addition to volunteering her time with basketball camps, she also serves as a youth basketball referee at games for the local basketball organization. Taylor has also taken the time to become a member of the TVHS Heroes club for the last two years. In this club TVHS students teach elementary students how to become better “heroes” within their community. In addition to volunteer work, Taylor is the third Twin Valley female to reach 1,000 career points in basketball. Taylor has come to enjoy each and every one of her volunteer experiences and cherishes all the friendships she made through volunteer work and sports. After graduating high school, her future goals include going to college to obtain a master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology. Taylor would then like to work as a speech pathologist in an elementary school, NICU, or Children’s Hospital. After being established in a work environment, she would like to get married, start a family, travel the world and enjoy life.
